Legislative Advocacy
Federal
CCCMHA coordinates policies and strategies on mental health issues representing
mental health service providers in a wide variety of California communities.
CCCMHA provides input on developing federal legislation and regulatory proposals,
and participates in forming national positions on important mental health
issues.
State
CCMHA provides representation and advocacy at the state level by effectively
lobbying the state Legislature, and establishing close working relationships
with state agency officials and regulatory representatives. CCCMHA influences
public policy development through both legislative and regulatory advocacy
efforts.
Local
CCCMHA's state and federal representation and advocacy program is supported
by grassroots efforts. Regional activities, such as hosting legislators and
meeting with local officials, are critical to developing and maintaining a
unified voice for legislative and regulatory action.
